The island I call home
I was born in Scotland, have Scottish and Swiss roots, and have called the Azores home since I was ten.
Since 2011, I have guided visitors through these islands in English, German and Portuguese, sharing their landscapes, stories and everyday life.
Why I created Naturemma
I love helping people discover São Miguel: its trails, villages, volcanic landscapes and the small details that are easy to miss.
Over the years, I have also come to value a slower way of exploring. Time to pause beside a waterfall, listen in a forest or enjoy a conversation along the way.
Naturemma brings these approaches together through guided days, nature connection experiences, retreats and personalised programmes.
How I guide
I bring local knowledge, practical experience and personal attention to each group. Some days invite movement and exploration. Others leave more room for stillness and sensory awareness.
My professional forest bathing training has added another dimension to how I guide. Where appropriate and agreed, quiet reflection or guided meditation can also form part of an experience.

COMMUNITY
Community connections
I welcome enquiries from schools, community groups and institutions interested in spending time in nature. Where possible, I offer selected activities on a voluntary basis. Please get in touch to discuss your group and what might be possible.
Working together
I collaborate with retreat facilitators, travel partners and organisations who share a care for nature, culture and the islands.
